NORTHERN CAPE - Vincent Loff (33) has been sentenced to 15 years direct imprisonment by the Galeshewe Magistrates Court, on Friday 05 July 2024, for attempted murder. The court heard that, during the afternoon of Wednesday, 25 October 2023, at approximately 13:00, the victim and a friend were walking to a local spaza shop in Mathanzima Street, when they were approached by an Okapi wielding accused, who aggressively demanded money, which the victim did not have. He further approached and stabbed him once on the chest and fled the scene. Detective Warrant Officer Stephen Wax, of Galeshewe General Detectives was tasked with investigating the case. His meticulous investigation led to the accused who was eventually arrested and at a hideout in Rimvasmaak shanties, near Galeshewe. The accused was charged for attempted murder. He was successfully convicted and sentenced, and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The Management of SAPS applaud the dedication of W/O Wax, and has assured the community that such acts of violence will not be tolerated, perpetrators will face the full might of the law.
